Video game industry needs to be more creative, says veteran developerI do think maybe the new, small side of the game market with mobile games, little flash and java games, and other simpler titles was left out of this discussion, Spector was mostly focusing on the big Triple-A titles in his discussion. If I were a smaller game company I might focus on mobile titles and "casual games" (tetris and the like) in order to build up a customer base and revenue, though it might be necessary to do a spin-off company when it came time to do a "grander" game. Though, if your heart isn't into the smaller games, then that might not be the way to go either.
Just some random thoughts there ...
